AHEAD Sustainable Innovation Toolkit: your contribution starts here

10/02/2026

The AHEAD Sustainable Innovation Toolkit is an interactive Miro map designed to help cultural professionals reflect, plan and strengthen audience development practices, whatever their starting point.
It supports both organisations and individual practitioners with concrete tools and guided reflection spaces to build more sustainable, inclusive and participatory relationships with audiences.

What you’ll find inside

The Toolkit is structured as a practical map you can explore at your own pace. It includes:

  • Context & Methodology – a short introduction to the AHEAD approach, shaped through real-life experimentation in the cultural sector.
  • Reflective Assessment – a space to pause and understand where you stand in your audience engagement journey.
  • REX (Return on Experience) Cards – insights and lessons shared by AHEAD participants, to learn from what worked (and what didn’t).
  • Commitment Canvas – to define your next step: what you will start, continue, or stop doing, and which mindset you want to strengthen moving forward.

Your contribution: turn reflection into action

This Toolkit is meant to be used individually or with your team to move from reflection to tangible decisions – making audience engagement a shared and sustainable practice over time.
To get value quickly, we suggest one simple contribution format:

  1. Choose a real challenge you are facing (audiences, access, relevance, participation).
  2. Complete the Reflective Assessment to clarify your current position.
  3. Pick 2–3 REX Cards and discuss what they unlock for your context.
  4. Fill in the Commitment Canvas and leave the session with one clear commitment: one thing to start, one to continue, one to stop.

And if you use it, please give us feedback using the form in the Toolkit!
