AHEAD project meeting in Bilbao

14/10/2024

On Wednesday, October 2nd, the AHEAD project partners gathered in Bilbao for our second in-person project meeting. After several virtual sessions, this was the first time we could meet face-to-face since our kick-off meeting in Rome last January. Excitement was high, and as hosts, we were committed to ensuring a memorable experience for all participants.

The meeting began with an opening session at Deusto Business School, where we reconnected and discussed the role of artists in the AHEAD labs, a key element of the project. This initial gathering set a positive and collaborative tone for the days ahead.

On Thursday, we focused on testing and discussing the ACED methodology, which will be implemented in our AHEAD labs at the Altamira Museum (Spain), the Archaeological Park of Ostia Antica (Italy), and the Messara Archaeological Museum (Greece). The session was dynamic and productive, sparking a wealth of ideas, insights, and inspirations.

In addition to the hard work, we also had the opportunity to enjoy a guided tour of Bilbao’s historic old town, where participants experienced the local culture and savored the city’s famous pintxos, blending productive work sessions with cultural immersion.

On Friday, the focus shifted to impact assessment, project management, and communication/dissemination strategies. The meeting concluded with an open event titled “Engaging Audiences through Artistic Interventions,” where we welcomed external stakeholders and officially launched the call for artists in Spain. More details on this exciting initiative will be shared in a forthcoming update.
