AHEAD in Brussels: Co-creation Tools for Cultural Heritage

Exploring innovative audience-centered approaches across Europe

01/10/2025

On Monday, 13 October 2025, AHEAD will host a special event in Brussels dedicated to exploring how co-creation can transform the way we engage with cultural heritage across Europe. Under the title “Co-creation Tools for Cultural Heritage”, the gathering will take place at BeCentral (Cantersteen 12, 1000 Brussels) from 15:00 to 20:00 (CEST).

A space for shared learning

The event will bring together cultural heritage professionals, researchers and artists to reflect on how audience-centred design can foster innovation, inclusion and sustainability in the sector. Throughout the afternoon, participants will discover first-hand the experiences and results achieved so far by the AHEAD project.

The programme combines presentations, collaborative sessions and networking opportunities:

  • 15:00 – 18:30
    • Opening session: Welcome and insights from the AHEAD project
    • World Café: capacity building, innovation and sustainability for the cultural heritage sector
    • Closing session: from learnings to actions
  • 18:30 – 20:00
    • Networking cocktail to connect, share and exchange ideas

Diverse voices and perspectives

The event will feature contributions from EACEA representatives alongside project partners from leading cultural institutions such as the Archaeological Park of Ostia Antica, the National Museum and Research Centre of Altamira and the Archaeological Museum of Messara. Researchers, artists and project managers who have developed and tested AHEAD’s co-creation tools across Europe will also take part.

Designed as a forward-looking conversation, the event will offer practical methods, field insights and opportunities for collaboration, building bridges towards a more participatory and inclusive cultural heritage sector.

Registration is open until Friday, 10 October 2025.
